The Word

"And here we are. There's a reason why we're here.
There's a reason for everything in life
Yup, everything. There's always a reason for us to be here in this phase of our lives, although sometimes the things that come in between makes us feel like putting a full-stop to this chapter, ending the novel that is our live, prematurely.
Prematurely? Or was it due, and all that we're telling ourselves is just something we've been hearing from others?
That particular reason, or those reasons is mainly why we're still here. People call it giving yourself hope, I call it the power of love.
And I quote," When we say we like/love chocolate or night stroll, we mean that we take pleasure in them."
Now now, did that take you by surprise?
The word 'love' is commonly misused, and frequently, almost always, paints one and only one picture in our mind; A relationship.
It doesn't always have to mean that. You can love anything, when it gives value to our lives.
I may love a glass of water, but that's me taking pleasure in something I desire at that point of time.
I love art, and that's me taking pleasure in something that gives value to my live.
It doesn't always have to be us loving our partners', and nothing else.
Look around you now. Look at what's that surrounding you, and what that's most important to you. It's not one, it's many, and when one is gone, it depreciates the value of our lives. When that feeling hits you, then it's love that you have for it.
Love, it gives value to our lives
And after all that's I've said, do you know what I'm referring to?"
I just smiled.
I love you, boy.

Consciousness

"For once, now it feels good" he said.

"How come?" I asked.

"Maybe it's the weather, maybe it's the people.
Maybe, maybe it's me," he said, grinning.

There was some lightness in the conversation. No more was the heave of a burden. It felt lifted off. The conversation felt like a relief.

You could feel the realisation of someone who's finally opened his eyes. It's like seeing a 'EUREKA!' moment from a soon-to-be Nobel Prize Winner. Only difference was, one's an excited reaction, the other a calm, composed reaction. It's as if he didn't realise anything, well in fact he's just been keeping it within all this while.
We all go through the same process of thinking deep and hard, and going through phases in life.

He told me, that nowadays when he looks at the people around him, it bothers him in many ways, both good, but more in bewilderment.
Nowadays, almost everyone seems to be looking for someone to be their partner for life. Almost everyone. And it bewilders him because, it shows how impatient how people are being. Like, for their whole life, they have been preeching each day about how lonely they feel without having someone to relate to. I think for that reason everyone feels the same. We always want that someone that we can relate to.
They preech about how much they long for that someone. They get all depressed and down about how lonely they feel. Expressions and metaphors fills every space in their life. And it's funny cause, it's almost everyone that's feeling this way. And, it bewilders him because, he feels that people are just bringing themselves down. Yes he can understand the gut-wrenching feeling of being so lonely, having no one you can relate to personally. But the thing that bewilders him is that, they don't do things to try to make themselves feel better. Each day, they fill their heads with sorrow, bringing themselves down.

Pardon the directness of that paragraph. But in a way, for someone to say something like what that boy said, it shows one thing: He's gone through the same thing too, and now, his eyes have opened a bit more. Think about it. No one will tell you to wipe away your tears without them having to wipe away theirs first.
The only reason why people can dare give audacious confessions like what the boy did is because he's gone through the same things too, and he's finally realise the reason why he's never been able to feel up, instead of being depressed 24-7.

When he looked at what that was happening to him, he saw himself in other people, pleading to God for them to feel 'happy' soon, and condemning fate for making them suffer this much. He never really thought that, "Hey, things will look up. And we have a long way to go still, so why the hurry? It will happen, so don't bring yourself down day by day."

To have something is better than to have nothing at all
To some of us, happiness is being able to enjoy life. To some, happiness is about having the ease of getting the things we want. To some, happiness is about finding the right one. That's the difference that we have.
What is the similarity, you ask? Simple.
When we get our 'happiness', we look elsewhere for something else. Period.
In life, we'll never be contented with what we have. Yes, never. You think you are contented? Think about what was the last thing you wanted so much, and look at the thing that you appreciate the most now. Is it the same? So that was why the boy said,
to have something is better than to have nothing at all

I wouldn't say he was unconscious all this while. He has been conscious, but he was just clouded by thoughts. And like clouds, after a while, when it breaks away, they clear the sky.
