Resemblence In Beliefs

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Siddhartha Gautama

He said it, and this is what I stand by in life.

The Crossroads

The irony of life, at times, it just boggles me. And I'm sure, as much as it boggles me, it causes some irritation too. And as it irritates, it makes me look at the irony of life; As much as I dislike the bad moments, I just see humour in it when I see the bad moments moulding who I am today.
And it feels good when you realise that the bad moments you've learnt from has made you someone you can be proud of today.
Don't you think so?
"Some of us just think that life is the duration you spend on Earth, and if some are lucky, on the Moon and Mars too. Haha," he chuckled.
Sense of humour eh?
"But it's more that just the duration. It's the actions and contributions we make that really give meaning to our duration in existance. It's the impact we make in other people's lives that makes this long duration, for some, more of a sweet journey rather than a miserable, cold wet voyage. It's the things we share with those in our coexistence that make it all the more sweeter a fruit to bear."
"It's the other lives we meet that give our life a deeper meaning. A more, meaningful meaning to this 'nutshell' we call life. And usually, these lives we meet, they come at crossroads."
The obstacles each of us face, may vary from one to the other. The common factor that makes us know how challenging it is for us to overcome it is the fact that, it's an obstacle.
Obstacles are like bumps on roads, like hurdles on a track, challenges in life. And in order to get to the other side of the road or track, we have to overcome them. And well, in order to overcome them, you need to endure by setting a new limit for yourself.
These obstacles tests us, and they keep pushing us till we can master the strength to push it back, and sweep it away.
Sometimes, these obstacles in life come in a form of decision-making. Whether to go one way or the other, whether to take a left or a right, like crossroads.
Some would go about weighing their advantages and disadvantages for both, some consider which is better for themselves, some just close their eyes and go where the wind blows them to, and some, well, they don't take the right or left turn; They make their own road.
But no matter where you go, the new path leads to something new. When it's a good path, well then good choice. If it ruins you, well then learn from it. It's never to late to mend your ways. But no matter what, these crossroads you go through will definately teach you a thing or 2. The lives you meet will give you insights on what the world really is.
And to him, this is what crossroads are for; They teach you a thing or 2. They open your eyes to a new world, with new surroundings, and new obstacles with new learning journeys. They let you meet new people, people who influence your life, whether good or bad. And this people are the ones that will teach you something new, good or bad. They teach you things that educate you about this world, good or bad. And it will be this mode of education that beats anything else.
You can go about reading books and all, but for him, he uses it as a guide. The real world is what he makes of it, the real world is what he experiences first-hand. Books help sketch an image, but experience give the colour and fine outlines to this picturesque portrait that is life.
It's a picturesque journey, life. A beautiful portrait.

C&H, and more

"It gave me this new lease of life.
And it seems, this life, I just don't want to let it go away."

So many things that once felt alien has now become a citizen in his mind.
Body and soul felt this revitalisation, mind felt liberated.
Yet he knew that one day the dust will settle on his sandy voyage.
But like the sands on Earth, he just wished it would be too much to settle, and he would just continuing looking at the world he does now.
The reason why he doesn't want anything to change now is because he feels that he's enjoying every minute of his time.
Lessons learnt, and as painful and torturous those lessons were, when he looks back, these lessons has brought him somewhere. And where's that somewhere?

"It feels like Nirvana.
And let it stay this way," he'll say.
