The Enemy Within

"It's pretty much been dark these days; You rarely see the sun as much because it's been raining almost everyday."

"It's pretty much been dark these nights; You rarely have the courage to close your eyes and try getting to sleep without having to open your eyes after every little sound."

"Well, at least that's the case for me," he said.

You see, it seems as though the nights have been difficult to look forward to. First, he has to deal with unwanted dreams. In a way, he feels that he has that under control. Yes they do still come around, those dreams. Now however, he's learnt of ways to dealing with it.
Secondly, he has to deal with his own paranoia; You see, throughout my time of getting to know this boy, so many stories have been shared between me and him. Most of it have been published here in my very own runaway space. Some of these stories though, I had to keep to myself. Not because they were meant to be a secret, but because, a difference of beliefs would have arose and clashed.

You see, this boy has had, "experiences" of his own. Experiences with, some would call it supernatural, others would call it a hallucination. Well, whatever you call it, he's not here to make you belief in it. All he tells me is,"Seeing is believing. I wasn't a believer myself, till the day I saw it. These eyes, they don't lie to you."
And it's these experiences that has made him change his view of things. Now, every single creek causes a stir in the head. Like throwing a pebble into a calm pond, it suddenly creates disturbance. And these experiences are causing the phenomenon that is paranoia in him.

He was having a hard time sleeping. Till just recently.

He was having a quiet moment with himself. And through that serene experience, he thought through things.

You know they say,"You are you own enemy." Well, it applies in this case.

All this while, whatever that has been happening to him has been because of his frail mentality. He's been causing all this to himself, no one else. All the things he has been going through with his close ones and all, it's all because of his thinking. He was causing his own downfall.

But now, before he thuds to the floor, he's woken up from his slavery. His dad once told him,"When you can control your mind, you control your world."
His mind was his master, and he was the puppet. Now though, the tides have turn.

He knows that "these things" exists, but now, no one can drive fear into him. No one and nothing, except himself.
Now,
No one and nothing can cause him misery, except for himself.
No one and nothing can cause him to fret, except for himself.
No one and nothing can cause him to lose control, except for himself.
No one and nothing, except for himself.
He's fed up of dancing to the master's tune.
Now,
he's the master. No one and nothing else.
